    Museum of African American History

    This is the world's third largest African American historical and cultural museum. The purpose of the museum is to preserve African and African American history and culture. There are many exhibits, theaters and classrooms in the museum. The museum store has many great gift ideas.

    Motown Historical Museum

    Founded in 1985 by Esther Gordy Edwards, the Motown Historical Museum chronicles the rise of Motown Records. Founder of the Motown Record company and producer on many of the hits of the 60s, Berry Gordy helped to open doors formerly closed to African-American musicians. The museum features Berry Gordy's apartment, the studio where many of the hits were recorded and a plethora of artifacts spanning the last forty years.
